Our Story
Kenny Cameron – Managing Director
‘I was first exposed to the unfairness of the storage heating experience in 2013 when, at Energy Assets, I worked with London landlords. I subsequently joined VCharge (later acquired by OVO) to establish its UK business. By 2018, I had been involved in many projects and been in hundreds of homes. I had heard first-hand how people coped with poor heating by going to bed early, wearing coats or plugging in expensive-to-use electric fires. I was convinced technology had advanced to the point where it could deliver a reliable and affordable storage heating solution. That’s why we set up Connected Response.’
Kenny has a proven track record in client collaboration at senior level in MD roles at Fusion Provida (now Wolseley) and McNicholas (now Kier) He led the Scottish Government storage heating project 2017-18 and is well known to landlords, policy makers, and fuel poverty organisations.
Martin Ade-Hall – Technical Director
‘I have been developing our technology since 2013 when I was at Energy Assets Ltd, at the same time that Kenny was there as Strategic Development Director. We co-founded Connected Response Ltd in 2018 having completed a Technology Transfer agreement with Energy Assets to fully develop and launch the product range. With each project, I have spent time on site, in customers’ homes, and found it extremely satisfying to see how we can transform their lives just by charging their heaters at better times. As an engineer it’s not often that you get the chance to see an idea through from start to finish.’
Martin has over twenty years’ experience in metering, switching and communications as a Software and Systems Engineer. He has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering, an MPhil in Mechatronics and is an Associated Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (AMIMechE). Martin is also responsible for several inventions and patents. Prior to his current role, he was a contract software and systems engineer for a range of products including electricity meters, mobile phones, engine management and industrial printers.
David Stern – Customer Engagement and Supplier Liaison
Update: David retired at the end of June 2026. We have retained his profile on the website because his experience, knowledge and enthusiasm were integral to our success. In the years before his retirement David mentored the Connected Response customer support team to deliver a smooth and effective transition.
‘Before joining Connected Response, I spent twelve years leading energy sales teams for major suppliers like British Gas, E.ON and OVO. I would be in shopping centres talking to members of the general public and, as soon as they told me they had electric storage heaters, I realised there was absolutely nothing I could do for them in terms of reducing their energy bills because they were locked into the draconian Economy 7 tariff. I joined Connected Response because I wanted to be able to help those people.’
Since 2017, David has led storage heating resident engagement projects across the UK, including London and Glasgow. He joined Connected Response in 2019 shortly after its formation.
Felix Wight - Commercial Director
I am the ‘new boy on the block’ having joined Connected Response as Commercial Director in January 2025.
Prior to joining the Connected Response team I was the Technical Director at Repowering London, and before that I spent six years with Community Energy Scotland. Both of these organisations are charities that seek to play their part in building an affordable energy future for everyone, particularly those in fuel poverty.
Connected Response has a very similar ethos, and I am excited to be working in a private sector organisation with a strong social purpose.
Whether it is smart electric heating, demand diversification services or supporting social housing landlords and tenants through the Radio Teleswitch Services Shutdown in June 2025, I believe Connected Response has a unique set of skills, technologies and experience that sets us apart.
