Connected Response has featured in the first newsletter from LESSIN, the Local Energy Systems Scottish Industry Network. The article focuses on Connected Response’s ambitious roll-out of its electric heating optimisation technology in Glasgow with GHA (part of the Wheatley Group).

Connected Response smart controllers will be retrofitted into GHA’s 10,000 flats with electric storage heating and hot water systems. The smart controllers enable the heaters to be charged according to the comfort needs of each individual household, taking into account the room temperature and local weather forecasts.

Glasgow is the host city for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in November. Connected Response technology has the potential to link Whitelee, one of Europe’s largest wind farms located ten miles from Glasgow, with GHA’s 200 electrically-heated tower blocks. This would provide a win-win opportunity: fuel poor households enjoying preferential tariffs for otherwise curtailed wind.
